NXP1500315 (FILE) - 12/15/66 - HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. Walt Disney, who fashioned a golden entertainment empire from the gossamer threads of fantasy to the delight of millions, died 12/15 at the age of 65. Disney, who underwent surgery for the removal of a lung on 11/21, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank where he had gone for a post-operative check-up. Disney is shown in a 1965 file photo.
