ROBERTO CAVALLI Vntg Deep Purple & Ivory Silk Hollywood Glamour Gown IT40 US 2

This vintage gown from Roberto Cavalli evokes the allure of Old Hollywood glamour with its plunging neckline, cinched waist, and bias cut fabric. At the bottom of the deep-V neck, the fabric is gathered at the center of the dress, and from there it falls gracefully into a wide, circular skirt. The long sleeves are gathered at the shoulders and taper to cuffs that close with three self-fabric covered buttons. The silk charmeuse fabric (shiny on one side and matte on the other) has a deep purple background covered in big ivory flowers outlined in either purple and gold and pink and gold.

At the bottom of the gown is a wide band with a scalloped edge decorated in a stunning pink art nouveau pattern painted in metallic copper and gold. Inside the dress is a modesty panel covering the front and back of the bustline, otherwise the dress is unlined. (We recommend Fearless brand double-sided tape to eliminate wardrobe malfunctions). There is a side zipper for closure.

The dress is labeled Italian size 40, which in vintage fashions is considered equivalent to a US size 2. The measurements indicate that the dress is consistent with a modern size 2. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size. Underarm chest measurement is 32.

Length is 58 down center back. Any flaws mentioned here are taken into account when pricing the garment.

Excellent condition overall with inconsequential thread pulls on each cuff. Two very small holes about the size of pencil lead on the back of the dress were professionally repaired and are invisible on the outside of the dress. Please do not rely only on the size label or our estimated size to.
